CCA presents — “Naglee Park, Groovy since ’76!”

It’s our 50th Annual Celebration of peace, love, and patriotism.  Start the day off with a fun run, enter something in the annual bake-off, join or watch the neighborhood parade at 1 pm, then head to William Street Park for an afternoon of music, food, and beverages with friends. 

July 4th Fun Run

  • Time: 8:00 am Registration – 8:30 am Races Start
  • Location: William Street Park (16th & William Street)
  • Details: Simply arrive at 8 am; no pre-registration required. Choose from 1M, 3M, or the “Not quite 5M” course.

Bake-Off

  • Time: 8:15 am – 8:45 am Drop off – 9:00 am Judging
  • Location: 298 S. 16th Street
  • Details: Display your favorite sweet or savory creation! Junior Aged Baker entries are highly encouraged. Items will be shared at the potluck picnic.

The Parade

  • Time: 12:30 pm Assembly – 1:00 pm Parade Starts
  • Theme: “Naglee Park, Groovy Since ’76!”
  • Details:   Featuring Station 8 Fire Fighters, historic fire trucks, and the Grooviest Grand Marshal.  Neighbors are encouraged to participate with decorated cars, bicycles, or groovy costumes.
  • Route: Starts at 14th & San Salvador, ends after 15th and San Salvador.

The Potluck Picnic

  • Time: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Location: South end of William Street Park
  • Groovy Entertainment:
    • DJ Alonzo (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM) spinning the “Grooviest” playlist to keep the party vibes going!
  • Features:
    • Bake-Off Samples: Taste the winning entries.
    • Potluck: Share a side dish with your neighbors.
    • BBQ & Tools: Grills available for those who want to cook their own favorites.
    • Kid Space: Special Bounce House, and Impromptu Splash Zone.
    • Refreshment Station: Located at a neighbor’s driveway on 16th St.

Funds for the Forth of July Celebration are provided through the CCA and donations. When donating online, select 4th of July.
